Anthony Joshua says he has been speaking with Peter Fury, the uncle and former trainer of his December opponent Tyson Fury. In an interview reported by ESPN after the September 30 London press conference, Joshua said Peter was willing to help him as he prepares for the fight. The detail adds interest to the build-up, but Joshua did not announce that Peter had joined his corner or taken charge of his camp.

What is the advice about? Joshua described it as feedback on his own training and approach. He said their conversations were not a request for inside information about Tyson Fury's habits. That distinction matters: an outside opinion from a coach who knows the family is different from a formal coaching appointment or a promise of a secret tactical plan. Joshua also made clear in the interview that he will weigh advice against his own judgement.

Ben Davison is the more direct coaching connection. ESPN reports that Joshua is working with Davison again for this contest. Davison previously trained Tyson Fury during his comeback and first meeting with Deontay Wilder. Peter Fury coached his nephew to the 2015 victory over Wladimir Klitschko. Those shared histories explain why the names attract attention, but they do not tell us how the December fight will be fought.

Joshua and Fury are scheduled to meet on Friday, December 11, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff. Netflix confirms the live global stream for members and says the full undercard and start time are still to be announced. The fighters appeared together at the London press conference on September 30.

The useful question for fight followers is whether Joshua's camp formally names Peter Fury in any role as the event approaches. For now, the confirmed statement is narrower: Joshua speaks with him, and Peter is willing to offer advice. Fans should look for a direct announcement before treating him as part of Joshua's official team.
